Daniella Dennis is a first-generation resident physician training in Emergency Medicine. Born to immigrant parents, she is a first-generation American whose path into medicine has been shaped by the perspective of building a career without a roadmap.
Daniella earned her degree in Biomolecular Sciences at Central Connecticut State University before transitioning to medical school in 2021 at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she was selected as commencement speaker and graduated in 2025. She is now in her first year of Emergency Medicine residency training at the University of Connecticut.
During her first year of residency, Daniella has chosen to focus not only on her clinical training but also to step fully into entrepreneurship. She launched The Resident Founder Podcast, a show dedicated to documenting the behind-the-scenes of balancing residency and business, and interviewing physicians who are stepping outside of their white coats to build meaningful success.
She is also the author of What Med School Didn't Teach Me About Money, a book reflecting on her financial journey through medical school. Most recently, she launched PayScopeMD, a web-based application using AI to make physician employment contracts easier to understand, with real-time salary benchmarking tools built for residents and attendings.
Daniella continues to explore the intersection of medicine, content creation, and entrepreneurship. When she isn't busy with any of those endeavors, you can find her trying new restaurants, watching a WNBA game, or making and consuming TikTok videos.
